INFORMATION FOR PARENTS/CARERS FOR SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE’S MENTAL HEALTH – CLICK HERE

At Highfield we care about the health and wellbeing of our children and families. As a school ensuring that children are safe and happy is our priority. We have rigorous anti bullying policies and systems in place to ensure that if a child has any worries or concerns they will be listened to.

We are also aware of just how important good physical and mental health are to the entire school community. In this section we provide information on how we support children and families including; mental and physical health, dietary information, personal safety and online awareness

Mental Wellbeing

At Highfield, we aim to promote positive mental health and wellbeing of every member of our school community and recognise how important mental health and wellbeing is to our lives, as is physical health. We recognise that children’s mental health and overall wellbeing can affect their learning and achievement.

Talking about mental health and expressing our feelings can be difficult, no matter our age. By talking openly about mental health from a young age, children can learn about: what they can do to maintain positive mental health; what affects their mental health; how they can help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and where they can go if they need help or support.
