Highfield has a wonderful Nursery offering 60 part time places.
If your child was born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 you can apply for a Nursery class for September 2017. This will be the September before their 4th birthday. Children who are offered a place either mornings or afternoons, usually attend the Nursery class for a year before starting in a Reception class at primary school. The place offered will be part time. Offers will be made on 27th April 2018.
Please remember if your child attends our Nursery you must apply for a Reception place in the same way as other applicants. There is not an automatic right to transfer from our Nursery to Reception.
Highfield Primary is able to offer 90 Reception places.
September 2017 intake will be for children born between 1.9.2012 -31.08.2013. We have a brand new Early Years unit/ new build providing high quality provision for our pupils. In Enfield children begin school during the academic year in which they become 5. The academic year begins in September. The school place offered will be part-time to start with, beginning with a morning or afternoon session. This gradual start ensures your child happily settles into school life.

NURSERY AND RECEPTION ADMISSIONS, 2018
Please find below information about Nursery and Reception admissions for 2018.
Nursery: September 2018 intake will be for children born between 1.9.2014 – 31.8.2015
Reception:September 2018 intake will be for children born between 1.9.13 -31.08.2014
1. The period for applications is from now until to 15 January 2018.
3. Parents are able to apply for 6 preferences this year for reception.
4. Admissions require certain documents to prove your child’s address. The documents required are listed in the booklets and include council tax notification, utility bills, child’s medical card or driving licence. They also accept insurance documents and benefit letters. You can take a picture of these documents or scan them to the online application. You may also email documents to the Admissions team using this email address email@example.com.
5. The Admissions Service will create a prioritised list of applicants, based on the admissions criteria. Schools will be asked to verify siblings and parents who work at the school and there will also be individual discussions with schools about medical priority.
6. Offers will be made on 18 April 2018. Children who are offered a place at their first preference school and applied online will receive their outcome online.
Changes of preference
If, after completing an application, parents want to change their preferences, they can only do so up to 15 January 2018. Parents can log on and alter their preferences online. If any parents have completed a paper form they will need to write to the Admissions Service stating their new order of preference for their child.
Change of address
Parents who move will need to provide documentary evidence of their change of address. It will only be possible to act on changes of address that have been received by the 31 January 2017.
Current Nursery parents applying for Reception places
All the children currently in our Nursery will need to re apply for Reception places.
The online portal will remain open for late applications until the 20 July 2017. When parents make an online application they can only submit it once and are not able to make any changes to it. If there are good reasons why they have submitted an application late these need to be confirmed in writing to the Admissions Team. No late applications can be considered ontime for any reason if they are submitted after 10 February 2017.

During the summer all parents will receive information about their child’s induction into our Nursery or Reception classes. You will be invited to an information afternoon/evening where we share vital information to ensure you are part of our school community.
The application process for 2017-18 is from October until mid- January

Mid Year Admissions
Pupil’s starting our school in the middle of a year will have an introductory meeting with a member of staff.
All new admissions are supported to ensure they feel welcomed and make friends easily. Our learning mentor will monitor their transition and ensure they are well supported through our buddy system.
The Enfield Schools Admission Service is based at the Civic Centre in Enfield.
We co-ordinate the admission process for children starting school for the first time and also the primary to secondary transfer process.
The Service also deals with requests for transfers and will provide advice about admission appeals and the formal exclusion process. You can contact the Service by calling 020 8379 5501 between 9am-12am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 2pm-5pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Public drop in times are on Monday 2pm-4pm and Thursday 9am-11am.
