6B – Autumn Term Highlights
One of the things we enjoyed this term was the St John’s Ambulance Service giving teaching us first aid. We learnt how to check for danger, how to treat burns and how to perform CPR! We all feel much happier now we are confident to deal with a crisis effectively!
One of our other highlights of the term was our visit to Winchmore Secondary School to have a Science lesson with Mrs Lewin May. It was a bit scary being in a secondary school at first but Mrs Lewin May taught us all about how fireworks are made. The best part was when we got to use the Bunsen Burners to recreate the chemical reaction that makes Fireworks colourful. Thankfully there were no loud bangs! Mrs Lewin May was so pleased with our scientific skills she awarded us a passport so that our new school in September will know we can use the science equipment safely.
