1I – Library Visit and Local Walk

Published by ltconsulting on

As part of our Community topic 1I went to Winchmore Hill Library and on a walk to look at features of the local area. We learnt that the library was opened in 1962 and that during the Olympics the staff put on lots of events for local people. We found out that the site where Sainsbury’s now stands used to be a large field. The librarians also told us about the Summer Reading Challenge; Anastasia says she is going to take part! We enjoyed our local walk too. We all agreed that our local area is very busy with lots of cars and people. We looked at the New River and at lots of different buildings. Zufishan really liked the old Police Station. But Peter thought that Pizza Express was the most important building. Can you guess why?
